Bhutan is a peaceful country that has strong traditional values based on concern for the environment, respect for the royal family, and religion. Bhutan is frequently called that land of the peaceful thunder dragon as a result of the storms in the Himalayan area and is located in the beautiful Himalayan Mountains. Bhutan is spread over 18,146 miles and offers a rich lifestyle and culture of the Bhutanese people, incredibly beautiful scenery, exciting wildlife, and spectacular views of the mountains. There is some unique architecture to be discovered in Bhutan such as carved wooden houses and Buddhist monasteries.

The capital city of Bhutan is Thimpu. It is probably the smallest capital city in the world that is located at an altitude of more than 7,500 feet. It offers a very pure and ethnic traditions and culture and traditional beautiful Bhutanese architecture and art. It is also home to the famous Thimpu festival, which is a festival of grand dances.

The beautiful Paro Valley is a testament to the rich culture heritage of the county and one of the most developed cities in Bhutan. The beautiful Paro Valley is one of the most visited places in Bhutan and has some of the oldest monasteries and Buddhist temples in Bhutan.

Some of the more historic sites in Bhutan include Trongsa which offers some of the best shopping in Bhutan where you can purchase hand wove textiles at very affordable prices.

Trongsa is also home of the Wangchuk dynasty and is also the ancestral home of the royal family of Bhutan. The Wangchuk dynasty controlled the country of Bhutan Trongsa Dzong from the time that democracy officially began in Bhutan.

Bumthang valley is also visited regularly in Bhutan because it offers many ancient forts and beautiful scenery. In Bhutan it is considered a sacred destination. The Bumthang Valley has some of the oldest holy sites and Buddhist temples and holy sites in the area which makes it the religious center in Bhutan. .

One of the primary attractions in Bhutan is the Bhutan Dzong. The Mongar Dzong is the newest addition of the architectural wonders in Bhutan and was built in 1930. It is believed that the Mongar Dzong in Bhutan was built without drawings.

Lh?ndrup Lhuntse was built in 1654. Lhuntse has a rich ancient heritage in Bhutan and the Dzong is one of the oldest monuments in Bhutan.

The Jigme Dorji National Park is one of the largest sanctuaries in Bhutan and was named after the third king of Bhutan.

Bhutan is rich in fauna and flora. These include the Himalayan brown bear, musk oxen, golden snow leopards, red pandas, oaks and pines, tropical trees, giant rhubarb, rare orchards, edelweiss, magnolias, junipers, and the national flower of Bhutan, the blue poppy.
