Don’t let the name fool you - this works in the daytime, too.

There are a lot of notes to this one: violet, citrus, neroli, mandarin, jasmine, lily, rose, ylang ylang, iris, mimosa, gardenia and narcissus, musk, amber, sandalwood and vetiver. So I am as predictable as ever: floral + musk or amber = I will wear the hell out of it.

I recommend splashing out on the eau de parfum, as the eau de toilette that Floris PR sent me does not last as long as I would like.

I just found this photograph, from a newspaper in the 1960s, of my aunt on her wedding day. She died in 2000, and we weren’t particularly close, but there is something exquisitely moving about this picture to me.

I have to say that my friend Kristie Wells looked amazing with her hair extensions on her wedding day (photo by Kris Krug). But I am also with Nadine Baggott in questioning the practicality and attractiveness of most extensions. Now that I’ve gone for the shorn look, I do yearn to have long hair again sometimes. That said, I cannot imagine that I could be arsed with the maintenance or with having bits glued to my head. I can barely even stand to have clips or a headband touch my noggin, let alone enormous falls of some other person’s dead cells.
